      • No Regrets. Part 1

Posted in Personal Baby Steps, Things I learned Today, by Andrea Yager
      • 1 Comments

    • As mentioned, I have just been put in the in the position to leave a position I have held for 7 years. Even if you live a full 120, 7 years is a NICE chunk of time! Even more so when you are also busy making/raising a family, enjoying your youth, trying to save for the future, etc..

As a baseball fan, I find it ironic that this is my 2nd time in row leaving a position after 7 years. My 7th inning Stretch.

7 years is long enough to build relationships, loyalty, and get into a comfortable groove. It has to be meaningful. It just HAS to. Can you imagine if you look back and say “I cant believe I spent 7 years of my life devoted to this x and I am no where to show for it?” Our time is too short.

Other than building relationships with my employer, and others.. how can I look back at these years and attach meaning to them, so they dont just get jumbled up with another experience to move beyond.

In a nutshell, and as usual since I am in a rush, I would say that I gained - MY FUTURE! I had left a desk job to start working from home doing affiliate marketing. Whatever the heck that meant. It was the year 2000! Google didnt even exist.. Yes, I was ‘trained’ to do the simple tasks I had to do, but the rest.. and there is such a lot of rest - came from my interest, and need to devour all on the subject. Even though I was not responsible from my employer to go beyond our original terms, it quickly became evident that there was so much possibility on the web, and I spent my own funds and my own time to build myself an education.

Many IM’ers will tell you about how much they bought, how much money they spent, and how little they have to show for it. You can look at it that way. Or you can say look at how much you KNOW now that you didnt know. Didnt turn it into cash?? Thats unfortunate, but if you put it in perspective, every $67 ebook, every $247 course, every $29.95 membership has contributed to an education that puts you notches ahead of the regular population and how they view the Net. Dont ever forget that! Create a certificate if you must and hang it on your wall. I know I deserve it now.

      THE DOCTOR IS IN.

Part 11 coming - have a good weekend!

      • Oh.My.Word. The Next Internet Millionaire Just MAY be ME!

Posted in Next Internet Millionaire, Online Business, Personal Baby Steps, by Andrea Yager

    • Yes. It has been a few days since my last post. Yes I am way too busy to even give this post the ‘coverage’ it deserves.. Yes, if you are reading this in hopes to find out my review of The Next Internet Millionaire Episode 5, you will be rewarded..

however.. what is the ONE theme that you have picked up from this BLOG??

      CORRECT!

Who will be the ONE to discover ANDREA YAGER??

Well my friends it is time to put the Pedal to the Medal and show what I am made of!

The Summary.. oh we will get into more later:

Lets say that I am a ’start up’. I have an angel investor who is putting a lot of money (for me) in me and investing in ME with hopes that he will have made a wise choice (DUH!) and that he will earn back his investment + profits!

Said otherwise, I was not hired. I am not an employee. I am now the CEO of a new corporation. I selected the name and will have access to other available funds to be able to build my new business venture. The business plan is negotiable, since he is eager, open, and planning on taking my vast IM skills to leverage his current business model etc.. and see what becomes of it.

      So dream come true? Yes!

Imagine someone gave you the funds to fly like a bird and soar? Imagine if someone offered you an equity share ALSO for doing that? Imagine if this person considers the people who clean your house a business expense since they help you be more productive?

So.. if you had to KNOCK SOMEONE’S SOCKS OFF.. and make a BOATLOAD of money in a short period of time, that would continue to build into a greater stream of money,

      What would YOU do?

I will Outsource like crazy.. so let me know if you have any skills to add to the mix and products we can promote!

For those tuning in.. if you scream your head off loud enough, someone will hear. This guy did not approach me through the channels I may have expected.. but once you become accustomed to thinking you are ‘all that’, it rubs off in ways you may not be able to predict or anticipate. TRUST ME on THIS ONE. Be Vocal. Grab a Backbone. And be discovered.

So speaking of people who missed the boat with their chance with me .. The Next Internet Millionaire Episode 5 was definitely the BEST so far. Meaning I think they nailed it this time for several reasons:

      1) The immunity challenge allowed us to see some people shine. Not only did Nico’s book title shine, but do did his personality! There is a story of a famous Rabbi who went to the doctor with his wife since her foot was hurting, and when the doctor asked what is the matter, the Rabbi replied “Our foot hurts”. Nico Pisani personified that ‘I am not for myself if we am not for each other’, and definitely scored big points with all .. Go NICO :) You better be reading this

      2) Team Challenge - ok, admittedly I was watching at some unG-dly hour and fell asleep during part of the speaker, but I think he is cute (which matters a lot to me since I’m shallow) and we were FINALLY able to see an execution in it’s entirety instead of just getting snippets of what they were trying to present. Except for the logo.. where there really was no competition. As others have mentioned, I too did not know which way Mr Comm would go. Although I was not completely surprised. Some people think he has a thing for Laura, I personally think he has it for Mr. Trippy.

      3) Elimination - as much as I like some of the other contestants that were already knocked off.. they did NOT have their Game On, so each week was sort of them cleaning out the filter to get to the good stuff.. Now each contestant that is knocked off will probably have less and less of a good reason to be eliminated other than being in the wrong seat at the wrong time. I could tell Christine schaap was SHOCKED to be off the show, and sure they found some average reason to sacrifice her, but it was really a waste of time to talk about, since in reality there was no choice. Jaime Luchuck was secure, JC would have ‘no pun intended’ been crucified if he went after Nico, and how could he kick out Laura Martin when their team DID a good job, and she was just allowed back in the game.. and been on the line so many times.. so process of elimination. The logic will probably continue as such, with rising tensions, and more nitpicking backstabbing nonsense to make it make sense until the last is standing..

I dont know if you can tell but the only TV (via DVD on laptop) I have watched in the last several years has been a few seasons of 24, and the only Reality TV I have seen is a few episodes.. not seasons.. episodes of one American Idol, CharacterRoadTrip (who wouldnt watch those adorable twins :) ) and when I was visiting the states I watched a few episodes of ‘would my mom let me date you’ in the middle of the night. Love trashy US TV!! oh I take that back.. I have been forced to sit through a few episodes of Pimp my Ride and I cry every time. It’s really a GOOD show!

      • How do YOU Make Your Money?

Recently I was so overwhelmed that I had a visceral reaction.

What caused me to feel soooo overwhelmed, when I am usually pretty lacking in the emotional department?

      THE POSSIBILITIES AND THE IMPOSSIBILITY!!!

When you see the Web as I do, it is one cash vault after another…. and regardless of which direction you choose, you cant possibly leverage the web to do it ALL..

With so many Web 2.0 Social Networking sites up..

How many of you are taking advantage of them ALL to their fullest possibilities?
How many are even scratching the surface?

So imagine if you were aware of not only the vastness of all the WAYS to promote your ideas, but the IDEAS themselves were in great numbers… Can YOU imagine the feeling???!!

It is IMPOSSIBLE to Hit all the POSSIBILITIES…

Unless you are in a great groove and doing extremely well in one market.. here is a possible solution:

If you have the capital to afford, you can hire several people to each specialize in a different area and hit as many areas as you can. Most people will work for a decent price since they will appreciate the education you are providing - you could possibly even get interns! Then if one area does particularly well, ramp it up a bit, and find which works for you. Now I know this is a focused persons nightmare, but I dont know if it works anymore to JUST be doing one thing or another.

Many potential employers will ask you where do you want to see yourself in 3 or 5 years from now? Yes, we have all answered that question.. but with the fast cash being made on the latest web trends, the ONLY answer will be .. “if done right, whatever terms we make today will seem SO ridiculous in a few years from now”…. and if you are working on the web, whether as an employee, moonlighter, or BOTH, and this is NOT the case for you.. then you will have to live with all the money lost, and all the millionaires that were created while you trudged along slowly.

So what is it YOU do?

*Rat Race worker who moonlights on the web hoping it will take you somewhere
*A WAHM doing some ecommerce site/service in order to be home with your children
*An affiliate marketer with either a list, or PPC arbitrage, etc.
*A niche marketer making money off your niche via affiliate sales, product creation, etc.
*A consultant helping others get started online via specific services - IM in general, copywriting, etc..
*A web person building sites, SEO, what have you
*An adventurous on the fringe player making money with whatever is the latest trend
      *A Resale Rights marketer
*An employee for a marketing company work in or out of an office

      or

      OTHER -

I probably listed more options than there are people reading this blog :) .

      • Internet Marketing Meets New Technology = BlogRush Syndication

Posted in Blogging, Products / Services I bought - Honest Reviews, Viral Marketing, by Andrea Yager
      • 1 Comments

    •
Most Internet Marketers earn their keep by promoting products on how you can promote online products or earn money from some tactic or another.

Every now and then a marketer develops a site/product/service which separates them from the pack and catapults them into being a serious player.

John Reese of ‘Traffic Secrets’ fame did just that. John Reese BlogRush Syndicated Network

His BlogRush syndication was developed to help increase FREE targeted traffic to your blog by placing a widget on your site that allows other blogs to see related material and vice versa. The Internet Marketing twists:

      1) If someone clicks on a topic on your blog.. a new window will open so you dont lose a viewer.

      2) You receive a viewing credit each time the BlogRush widget is viewed on your blog.

      3) With ‘Kosher Style’ MLM, if you refer bloggers to BlogRush, then you can get ‘viewing credits’ based on the viewership of each blog you refer. Of course the problem with this.. if you sign up 10 sub par non active blogs, and it caps at 10 sub referrers, (which I believe I heard), then you may not get the results you like.

I am all for more Blog Traffic, but my ONE complaint and reason you do not currently see the BlogRush widget on my blog.. It is too wide and the script does not allow me to play with the sizes, as I have done for MyBlogLog, and Bumpzee. I could not find any way to contact them via their very well put together site. Any advice?

I highly recommend you get started with BlogRush today, since like other MLM’s those in first stand to benefit the most. Plus its just a great all round asset for your Blog, and it looks nice too. No Hype Needed.

      • Worm Your Way into Joel’s Heart…. Next Internet Millionaire Episode 4..

Posted in Next Internet Millionaire, by Andrea Yager

    •
Well I may actually stop writing about the show, except it is giving me sooo much darn traffic! ;) So I skipped 3, but on to episode 4…

So hey all you old forum friends.. will try not to insult you too terribly since I am a power player, and am here to network and yada yada….

      HOWEVER..

      HOWEVER..

Have you ALL lost your minds???? :)

Over 10 minutes of this episode was spent on eating worms. YUCK!!

I have no problem with worm slugging if it’s part of what makes you different and yet not completely ‘out there’. Like I kinda believe Alisande that she is up for anything and would actually find herself in another situation where she would eat worms, with the stakes being MUCH less. Just for the experience. But here is the problem..

Do you want to JV with someone who would RATHER eat worms than do a task? I hear the other side that they would rather accomplish than surely fail, and they do look like they go down pretty smoothly.. but I would certainly hope Joel isnt calling a non worm eater an inappropriate JV partner.

Here is another thing and maybe its just me and my education.. but I kept remembering that afterschool special called ‘The Lottery” or similar, where someone picked a name out of a hat and they were selected to be stoned.. and as ludicrous as it was, everyone joined in.. like lambs to the slaughter… losing their sense of right or wrong. Not ONE person passed on the challenge. Actually a few people passed, but after seeing the rest follow suit, they too succumbed to the peer pressure. The one contestant who didnt eat the worms TRIED and got ‘brownie points’ for considering it. Would the individual who said an unequivocal ‘NO’ have received congratulations?

Some of you may or may not know why, but there is no question 100% absolutely that I would NOT have eaten those worms. The question I have for myself is Would I have felt bad? A failure? Probably.. I can be pretty pathetic sometimes ;) ..

Marlon Sanders is the Guru of the week. I am a pretty big promoter of his items - in fact - if you look to the right of this blog Marlon Sanders Top Selling Productsunder top picks, his items are 4 out of the 5 items listed there. You want to know how to build a website from scratch? Point and click web building.. etc.. check them out.

The execution challenge was to create a product, and discuss the marketing plan. They were also using NINJA terms we were not privvy too like plank or flank .. again.. I know you were giving them a limited amount of time to perform a task, and I see you helping them from the sides.. but there is nothing more dull than water and phones…. As internet marketers, product creation is ESSENTIAL to SUCCESS, and it would have been really neat to actually witness something realistic. I know I have a bunch of product ideas… dont they all? Couldnt they have combined their brain talents and produced SOMETHING?

The reason the execution challenges are not succeeding .. meaning one team is repeatedly LOSING.. the other team isnt really WINNING.. as opposed to the immunity tasks, is due to the combination of talents and inability to tap into them properly. They keep repeating the same problems in the judgement room yet people keep volunteering to be the leaders. Lesson #1 - being a leader is NIM suicide!

If you think I am insulting the show, forgive me. I find the show fascinating from beginning to end, but I am too personally involved to have a real objective opinion.

Lesson # 2 - Know thy limitations, be honest with your strengths, weaknesses, and confront them. So hear goes nothing:

I know that I sell myself short, great things are right around the corner, I am a nice, honest, and ethical in business, and I would have kicked a$$ on that show. As it stands now, I would have been like the multi-talented Jason Marshall, yet with the IM skills to back it up! My weakness? I spend most of my time telling other people how to make money online instead of doing it for myself.. How to overcome it? Have patience, a plan, JV partners, and
      outsource, outsource, outsource.

My new online friend Big Jason Henderson got kicked off the show, which wasnt entirely a surprise from the previous episodes. I think he was definitely misunderstood and came off as a villian and just NOT what I think he really is. Frankly to me he seemed pretty shy and passive on the show.. , which he seems anything BUT in real life.. makes you wonder about that cutting room floor.

So Big Jason.. possibly all will be revealed, and possibly not, but how did you feel about how the other contestants spoke about you, and why were you so dissed? P.S - I really like what you said about your email offering a support desk link. You should have gotten points for that.

Now you better leave me a comment here or else.

This is a ‘quickie’ (no pun intended)… but I just want a blogging question answered.

*DISCLAIMER - for those of you seriously considering hiring me to turn your struggling online presence into a star-studded affair, do not be discouraged by my need to ask these questions. I can back it up with 7 years of serious internet marketing and it’s those who ASK who LEARN. Yes I could have googled it, but this is MORE FUN and just maybe I am a keyword GENIUS to write this post.

      Moving on….

What is the difference between being ‘tagged’ and a ‘meme’? Rather, I know what it means to tag, but how should the ‘tagee’ react if tagged vs being ‘memed’.

I ‘tagged’ a few people and the end result was that one person wrote a blog post about the subject (which was cool) and someone else ‘memed’ me and I just commented on their blog…

All I wanted was to start conversations and get comments.
