Don't ever tell a person " You don't know how valuable you are " they might take it to heart.

As well when it comes to employees I think everyone should be paid the same and ranks removed. As well they should all contribute the same but that doesn't either. I tell you one thing in any company I ever own everyone would be expected to produce the same level of excellence and everyone payed the same. If everyone does well everyone gets more.

I also believe that only profitable business's should exist.

My world is a bit different than yours, but I will see what I want unfortunately I might have to wait till my death to see it.

Hello NIM friends (and Liz),
What terrific fun meeting Andrea - the only thing that would have made the evening crazier would have been if the first episode of Next Internet Millionaire had been uploaded in time and we could have watched it together!

I just spent a couple hours coaching people with under-performing websites, including another NIM contestant who didn't make it to the final 50 (see, Andrea, there are levels of cruel rejection beyond even what we experienced, hahahaaaa!). It's definitely my impression that the VAST majority of people with websites have website issues and no clue how to solve them. Meaning, you Andrea - with your 7 years of IM experience, killer charisma and good looks - could be the goddess of web world!

Unless Alisande beats you to it. I'm beginning to suspect, though, Alisande, that you or Jason H. won Next Internet Millionaire since you're the only two out there still promoting it. Either way - you've gotten great notices for your smarts and professionalism so kudos there.

I'm not going to Atlanta because...

1. I'm going to Russell Brunson's clambake in September.
2. The last thing I need is more inspiration and ideas. I'm going to require myself to really make some serious progress on a few more things before I jump back into the bottomless well of IM ideas.

I am shopping for a product launch mentor, though, so if you find an extra one down there, Alisande, please give him my number.

We'll all meet up eventually, I'm sure, and that will be very cool. This, to me, is the redeeming benefit to the NIM experience - Joel inadvertantly introduced us all to each other, heh heh, and I'd bet on all three of us to meet him as equals down the road. Sweet!

To us and our good fortune!

Alisande,

Hi! You hit a soft spot, since ATLANTA is my hometown and I would love to be both there for a visit and to the big seminar. I can only assume (hope!) that this was a freebie for you as a contestant!

Gail and I both agreed that its the first client that is the hardest. Once you can get your foot in the door, everybody knows somebody who is trying to do better online..

The funny thing is that I am not intimidated by those who know more. I realize how many people offline know so little! However, since the profession is so new to many, unlike hiring an interior decorater, people dont Get what they are buying! Hence, they dont appreciate the value. .. although that could be a good reason to charge TONS!!

Man.. do I ramble or what ?? :)

Good luck Alisande..

Hiyah Andrea:

I'd love to meet Gail and you in person one day...actually I'm planning to go to the Big Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia in October...are any of you going?

The comments that Gail made about you are right on the mark. I didn't realize you did not value your advice with any monetary value...or at least you don't ask for it..?

Sometimes the difficulty in asking first is because you see so many who you think know more than you, you figure..why would anyone want to pay you for consultations? But I don't know if that was your concern..

You have more influence in your sphere than you think...and there are probably people within your own town who would like to get into IM who don't realize they have a consultant/coach within their grasp.

As well, now that so many people have seen you as a top of the list contender for the show, that definitely gave you even more exposure in addition to what you had in the IM world before it...I hope you are tapping into that!

I look forward to seeing what you will be doing on the internet!

Looking forward to your success as a fellow female Internet Marketer!

Cheers,
Alisande

Liz,

I agree that I would hear the 'good for you' part too... It has helped that I care a lot less what gets said behind my back, than I did when I was younger!

I LOVE your last line. Totally going to let that sink in...

will repeat it for others to appreciate as well:

From LIZ STRAUSS folks - look for this quote in an upcoming post

"If there was a problem on their end, we negotiated how we might make it work by adjusting the job, not the price."

Of course there still is the question of what that price should be :) !!

When I faced this challenge -- as I think we all do -- when the time came to talk money, I started saying to folks "I've made a promise to stop offering my work for less than it's worth." Amazingly, everyone seemed to respond the same way. They all said the equivalent of "Good for you!"

Boy that was all of the reinforcement I needed. :)
