Affilicon has come and gone.
I was surprised with the professionalism, the quality of the sponsors, the stage set up.
I was impressed by the free water, delicious lunches, Tequila and Sushi, and the plans being made for future events.
I was delighted by how much the boys outnumbered the girls, and the number of native English speakers…

….and mostly that I was not nervous speaking in public and really loved it.
It was an honor meeting and presenting with Ran Aroussi, Yigal Pines, Sam Michaelson, and Felix Leshno.
I also got to meet / know a little better Charlie Kalech (thanks for ride from hell man), and several other internet addicts from Jerusalem and environs.
I love my new PR agents of cool, Lloyd and Ilya. It felt like reconnecting with old friends, even though we just met.
A special shout out goes to Graeme from Gibraltar. He sat in the front row of my presentation, since he knew it was important to me that people come and listen.
But WHO Moved me Most of all????
here you are:
YOU!

I invited you to exchange cards, to come talk to me, and boy did you!
Sometimes I behave in ways that I cant explain. Do I HAVE to give you a really good explanation why i wanted to hand out my card to everyone and receive theirs in exchange? Do you not know how opportunities happen?
I dont buy lottery tickets, but I sincerely believe that it’s entirely possible a card in that pile could make me or them a LOT of money.
Before you go, here is a TEST:
Find for me what is different in this image and the one above? Let me know below. Tell me how long it took you, and your thoughts. There is a lesson to be learned here.

Hi Andrea,
First, it took me 30 second to find out that you added your business card to the second picture and this changed the order a little bit. I loved your card from the minute I saw it, and here it even clearer how bold it is.
I liked your presentation very much, and you made a very good impression on me, I will be happy to keep in touch with you.
Best regards,
Daniel (the hands with the flowers…)

The truth is, that the 2nd image has 1×1 pixels less.
Seriously,
You have took a card from the middle and put it at the bottom/on the left side.
Instead, you have put your Biz card (at the middle).

Daniel,
Hi! I remember meeting you and receiving your card. Yes, with the flowers
. The next few days I am going to look through all the cards, visit websites, and get to know my new friends. Thanks for reaching out to me, and please stay in touch.
Andrea Yager (November 27th, 2008 at 10:04 am )
Ofir,
Hey! After our conversation I went to facebook and realized I had a lot of outstanding friend requests. I am happy that I can put a name, experience, and personal conversation to your face. Speak soon!
PS - get a business card. Even if it says wannabe millionaire, or slacker. It adds dimension.
Then send it to me.
Andrea Yager (November 27th, 2008 at 10:07 am )
Lloyd,
happy to not be phone texting anymore. gonna move you over to my crackberry, and have some fun. beware.
Tony Tovar (November 27th, 2008 at 11:46 am )
Andrea, it is an honor and a privilege to have come across your blog. A dear friend by the name of Tzahi Rozental introduced me to your specific “secret” link and I was thoroughly impressed by your performance with Carrie (don’t worry about the math, I couldn’t do it off the top of my head either! :D). Like her I reside in Texas and am currently studying economics at the University of Texas in Austin. I’m brainstorming about my niche and I think I’ve found it. However, I’d love to speak more with you and also thank you for your hard work! You are doing great work and the interview shows that.
In any case, Thank you for that and I wish you the best of luck.
Respectfully,
Tony Tovar
Moolahblog.comI’ve decided to sell my site because of my ambition in doing something similar to what Carrie has produced. It makes money but nothing compared to her business. I’m going to use the information I gather and the interviews that I hold to further boost a different niche. You have a great blog established here. Keep up the good work. If you evern need my help please let me know.
Tony Tovar (November 27th, 2008 at 11:49 am )
oh and the difference was your business card with your name on it.
took less then 10 seconds.
Ran Aroussi (November 27th, 2008 at 12:33 pm )
I had a lot of fun on Affilicon, and meeting you was definitely a highlight! Both your presentation and our beer talks were informative, and full of humor. I’m you already have quite a few subscribers on the special link you gave us all.
See you soon, I hope…

Tony,
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you got the ’secret’ link that is not supposed to be passed around ;). Good copy, eh?
Feel free to contact me through the blog if I can be of any help. Check out the ask andrea page.
Either way, keep us updated on your progress. Thanks!
Andrea Yager (November 28th, 2008 at 4:35 am )
Ran,
Thanks for your comments. However, your beer talk comment implies that I was drinking beer. This is a family blog. I hate beer and all alcoholic beverages. Especially drinking one Tequila after another. Not me.

Ilya aka PR Agent #1 or #2 (you guys battle it out)
Show me the article. You have my personal cellphone number that was not on my business card. In my book, this means you could not have made every mistake.
Itay (November 29th, 2008 at 5:04 am )
pleasure having you at Affilicon! I was impressed with you and I hope to have you speaking with us again on the Affilicon Spring in June 2009.

Igal (November 29th, 2008 at 9:46 am )
Hey Andrea,
It was pleasure for me as well, hope to cross paths soon.
Keep in touch,

Alex (November 30th, 2008 at 3:06 pm )
Hey Andrea,
So I hear it was a great first summit.
I hope the second one will be much better and we will have a few free seconds to exchange cards.
Cheers,
Alex

Commenting before I read the comments to tell you that I saw you added your name in the second picture - your biz card, right? And the bottom left corner is different, too.
That’s so awesome that you were so comfortable on stage - wish I could’ve been there! You look great up there!

Will any of the conference be on YouTube?
Andrea Yager (December 2nd, 2008 at 11:11 am )
Itay,
Thanks for stopping by here! Great to meet you, and so impressed with the work you did over there, including taking a chance on me
I know we will be in touch!
Andrea Yager (December 2nd, 2008 at 1:50 pm )
Alex,
Were you there? Have we met? Yes, we must do a card exchange !
Andrea Yager (December 2nd, 2008 at 1:53 pm )
Lisa Marie,
Thanks for stopping by. Good guess
Of course you are correct.
I think they are uploading videos elsewhere, not sure about Youtube. I recorded mine on my flip - still debating what to do with it.
So comfortable may be an exaggeration but certainly not the heart beating louder than my thoughts that I was worried about! Practicing helps.
Alex (December 3rd, 2008 at 5:51 pm )
Hey Andrea,
No, I was too tied up to attend this one. Too bad for me, I guess.
But I will storm the next one
