    • Today I decided I am sick of cleaning my home and wanted to outsource the task.

      However, I was very wary.

After my loyal amazing cleaner decided to ditch me for another gig, (my fault for traveling too much), I felt like I was giving charity to everyone who stepped foot in my house – they were all THAT bad.

So when I woke up today and decided that this house IS getting cleaned and NOT by me, I realized what had to be done.

I had to use basic copywriting principles in my everyday life to communicate to someone what I wanted them to do, and how i wanted them to do it.

My subject line (to a local mailing list) was:

COULD YOU WIN THE CLEANING OLYMPICS?

This had a touch of humor, and yet was clearly evident that I am seeking talent. (and I know you may have just lost your job at intel, but that does not make you a great cleaner). It generated a LOT of replies, so now I can try people out and decide who gets the Gold.

The quick point I want to make is that I have recently considered copy in almost all aspects of my everyday life. Not only my online life, and you should too.

Start thinking about this next to you:

      • Speak to people on the phone
      • Speaking to significant (even insignificant) others
      • Speaking to your children
      • Potential clients.

      Examples:

      1. You ask your child to throw out the garbage and he/she complains:

Not so Great:Too bad, everyone has to help out around here, just do it and be quiet

The copywriter says: “Come on friend throw away that frown and slap on a wide grin. Why? Because you’re going to get to go outside. Do you realize how many people don’t get to breathe real air? Think of all the people in the world who right now are in hospital laying on a hospital bed. Not only can they not go out and breathe fresh air they can’t throw out the trash. So let’s celebrate. Let’s breathe every cubic square centimeter of the fresh air into your lungs (with that wide smirk placed firmly on your face) and let’s be done with the trash and have a nice big empty can to put all our waste-in until the next time”

They may roll your eyes, but the positivity will be infectious and will get them thinking!

      2. You want to provide someone with unsolicited feedback (this comes to mind as I just learned this lesson with my brother)

Not so Great: What I sent my brother: “THIS COPY IS BORING” (I was just ASKING him to be defensive

The copywriter says: Consider being more conversational; you could say something like, “How do you feel about this section?” and first get a gist of their goals that they want to achieve and then work from there.

      3. Someone asks how you are feeling and they are not your best friend, spouse, parent. (or even so)

Not so Great: “I Could be better”, “Fine”, “Ok”

The copywriter says: You’re always feeling great thank you. Whenever anybody asks you how you are you are always something positive even when you’re not. If you feel bad and someone asks how are you don’t respond with “you don’t want to know” or worse with venom like “what does it matter to you?”. Instead say “I am getting better” (or if you’re really bad say “I have been better”). And if you are just “good” don’t say good that’s boring, say you are “absolutely outrageously fantastic.” Do it. Compare how you feel and how the other persons respond to “good” as opposed to “absolutely outrageously fantastic”. And of course, always ask them how they are as well.

I would LOVE to add to this list, but I have to go now. Do you have any examples to share?

    • If I asked you to do work for me, but only hinted at a possibility of financial reward…

say a year or two down the road….

      what would be your response?

WAIT! Dont answer yet. There is more to the question.

I would require that you give me your best quality labor! Which means not physical work, but to share with me your MIND, perhaps a nice chunk of HEART & SOUL.

And Time.. oh yes, it would require lots and lots of time.

Tell me. Tell me. Tell me.

The truth!!!! Not only would you think I am insane, you would probably think me rude, and an assortment of other unmentionables.

and… now you know why sooo many blogs go silent.

There is a HUGE distinction between Blogging for Dollars and Blogging for Impact. In fact, I may start a little controversy here,… and even though I had planned future posts on blogging for ‘money’, I think it is the rare blog that is able to support even ONE individual in a comfortable fashion.

However, let me jump to the Punch Line.

“Good things come to those who wait”

Not too funny, but I will be laughing all the way to the bank.

By Blogging for IMPACT, or SUCCESS, with passion, with YOU in mind, NOT my wallet, many opportunities have come my way.

Israel is hosting it’s first International Affiliate Convention. It is well known to me, not from locals, but from being told the world over, that Israel boasts some of the top Affiliate earners across the board. In fact, I had the great honor of working extremely close with one of them (May he rest in peace).

I will be speaking about ‘Making more money from your traffic’, focusing specifically on List Building and Membership Sites. Come witness live a sexy powerpoint. This 2 day convention is thorough and filled with powerful speakers on an incredibly wide range of topics. I look forward to meeting others. Maybe you?

If you CANT just somehow make it over to the Holy Land, I may figure out a way to get a video clip, images, and well, I can at least share with you some highlights from the event.

      can you inspire me?

Interested in attending? Visit the Affilicon – Affiliate Marketing Conference Now!

To summarize, don’t neglect looking at the BIG PICTURE. Often times We spend so much of our time in our daily microscopic lives, we fail to see the potential in well… in just potential.

I urge you to SEE the potential in the potential.

Have you ever experienced a “Big Picture moment?

    • I dont think I would have mentioned this way of making money online had I not been able to do it as done in the video. (have to create SOME suspense to get you to watch ;) ! ). However, how foolish would I be to SKIP it? As one of the most widely visited sites on the web, Ebay is THE quintessential way to make money online. Heck, it practically invented the concept!

If you are in the need of some emergency cash, or you simply just want to make your FIRST DOLLAR, look no further than Ebay. Sometimes you just get so discouraged. So here is the plan.

      1. Find something you can live without in your house. If this is a problem, then you have problems :)

      2. Take a Picture of it with a Digital Camera, Flip, etc. Borrow a digital camera from your neighbors 8 year old son, THAT’s how many people have digital cameras and you should too.

      3. Go to Ebay and Sign up. (damn wish I had patience to find the affiliate link since they pay like $20 per new sign up.

      4. Follow their instructions. Dont forget to choose the appropriate category and sub categories.

      5. Make Your first dollar.

Once you see a positive cash flow, instead of constantly spending, you will be invigorated to try more. Upward and Onward.

      • Are Websites the new Brick & Mortar?

Posted in Idea of the WEEK, Online Business, by Andrea Yager
      • View Comments

    • Imagine YOU live in Anycity, Anystate, USA and notice that your local shopping area is not selling Widgets!

      EVERYBODY NEEDS WIDGETS!!

so you decide to take the plunge and open up your own local Brick and Mortar ‘We sell the BEST Widgets’ Store. You take another mortgage, borrow from your savings and family and open shop.

websites the new brick and mortar

Unfortunately, if you are like the majority of small business owners… you do some business, but slowly (or maybe like a stab to your heart quickly) realize that maybe.. just maybe people don’t need widgets as much as you expected, or neglected to consider that the ‘widget store’ a few miles away is in a preferred location, with twice the amount of stock. Another small business. Another failure. Another statistic.

Over high up on my pedestal I look down on the mom and pops.. rather pity (in fact fear comes to mind too).. Don’t you know the place to be is ONLINE? Can you empathize with the hard worker who is putting his guts into this business only to cater to the people in his/her immediate vicinity? Its like being a first hand witness to the Rat Race in action.

      BRING IT ONLINE

The motto could be ‘why aim to serve FEW when you can aim to serve MANY’

Typically I educate that the cost of failure when venturing online is almost non existent next to offline businesses that fail. Domain names cost $10, hosting is $120/year, free website builders abound. All you have to lose is time.

      make a big splash online

That’s if you want to make a small splash on the web. I however, plan to drop a cannon.

As I am currently positioned to dump a sizable amount of money into a website, I am faced with this thought:

Have I been naive all along?

Is there really as much difference to someone putting all their eggs into one expensive fancy website and someone opening up a local store?

Certainly the web has a much much wider market than Anycity, but how hard do you have to work to attract just the RIGHT visitors from the billions of website users, and competing websites. Will my ‘example’ 80,000 web visitors be comparable to the 80,000 pedestrians that walk into your local store? Statistically a greater %age of people who walk in a store will actually make a purchase than actions will result (even it be giving away something free!) from a visitor to a website (I made up this statistic but I am sticking with it). This actually means that you need probably triple to quadruple the quantity of website visitors to reach the same bottom line. This requires proper online promotions and staff to market the proper channels, which means ongoing costs.

Are websites becoming the new Brick and Mortar?

      • How to make a Million Dollars in a Year Starting from Scratch!

Posted in Idea of the WEEK, Online Business, by Andrea Yager
      • View Comments
    • So you want to make a million dollars this year?

Yes, I am talking to YOU. How do I know you are here? Because my search stats tells me that everyday hundreds of people are finding this page by searching any number of variations on making a million in a year.

If you scroll down you can see the original blog post that was written that attracted Google, etc. to this page. It’s still a good post, and has good information, but lets be serious. We want to make a LOT of sick cash, and NOW. So, the action plan is to read the blog post, but also.. and FIRST, to consider this.

You could have searched to make Ten Thousand dollars. You could have searched to make One hundred thousand in a year. You could have searched even to make $500,000 this year. But you didn’t. You searched on how to make a million dollars. You are serious. you are game on. And you are in the RIGHT Place.

So if you would like access to this information then sign up to this special email and the report for making 1 million in a year will be on it’s way. I don’t want to run the risk of just posting the information here and allowing it to leak to the public at large.. so if you are serious. You know what to do:

Read on to find the original blog post on the subject: …

Here was the challenge My Mr. X posed me with in this post last month (be sure to read the comments on that post – good stuff!) :

Assuming you currently do not have a web presence and no other online assets, how can you make 1 million dollars in 12 months?

First of all, Mr X is becoming a way overused moniker for someone who makes a crapload of money but wants to remain anonymous .. We are given the impression that people would be stalking and calling him all hours of the day, beating his secrets out of him. Mr X is getting a new name, since any Mr X I consort with is WAY cooler and simply cant share his title of Mr X with a bunch of other zombie face millionaires. Any Suggestions? Agent Money maybe?

      Back to the money:

This is a unique challenge since MOST people have some leg to stand on… some ’stuff’ in their arsenal.

Here we are just waking up one day.. and deciding to become an online millionaire.

To that I say… NO PROBLEM!!

1 Find where the NEXT convention is

In an industry that interests you, and assuming you are really broke, figure out ANY way possible to get yourself there. Borrow. Beg. Comandeer some moolah! Meeting like minded people face to face wont put money in your pocket immediately, but will open doors, as many doors as you have the time and energy to pursue.

Want proof? I just went to a convention at the end of February 08. Here is my Paypal account balance from Feb 17th 08 until March 1st 08: (I split it up to remove the private info and have it fit on the screen)

      proof of earnings on paypal
      Proof of earnings on paypal

Now, Here is my current paypal account balance up to May 7th ‘08. And it will be growing. 90% from the relationships at the conference and I have been back just over 2 months.

      proof of earnings on paypal
      Proof of earnings on paypal

(btw – you can see that I joined a membership, and that allowed me to cancel a different one that I didnt need anymore)

      NEXT

      2 Show Off Your Skills

Lets assume you have some skill or talent. Find some ugly backwards but high ranking website in your niche, and SHOW them what you can do for them. Dont send a stupid email. Go to WHO IS, call them up, Fed EX them a personal letter (if you can afford the postage) and do this for MULTIPLE people in your niche. From there the possibilities are endless from a simple affiliate relationship to a product you could whip up as an expert to a split equity deal. It will be the cheapest and fastest way for YOU to grow a high ranking website and make it fast!

Want Proof? I dont have figures, but showing you that I am putting my money where my mouth is: The launch I am working on that I invited you to witness is for a website that belongs to ‘my company’ but is exactly as described above : Ugly, backwards, high ranking, and niche. This guy approaches me, lets call him YOU for now, since he is following the steps I advise, and asks me to promote his product. Then I become YOU, since I actually tell him.. thats not good enough! I dont want to promote some stupid ebook and make a couple of dollars! I want to blow this out! We are dedicating part of the site to this launch experience, and you have been invited to watch. If you have patience since we are both busy!

      NEXT:

3 Look At Me – I Am Important

Start putting yourself out there and draw attention to yourself. Garner market interest by being either controversial, out there, influential, funny… How much will it cost? Well assuming you dont already own a digital camera that can do videos, you could prob get a little flip camera or $79 dollar Samsung (the kind you get kids for their Bar Mitzvah, and the kind I have used for all my videos so far), go to UStream or youtube or anywhere and try out for online contests or reply to other peoples videos, and start talking about your niche..

      Want Proof?

I should be called the ‘always a contestant, never a winner’.. but I would beg to differ. Exactly a year ago, I submitted my first video ever. A timid, shy, hint of personality, a little loserish entry to the next internet millionaire: (I cant even watch it anymore)

I entered a few other contests and look at how I was referred to a mere 7 videos and 9 months later. The ‘FAMOUS Andrea’ … not that this is my finest work, but

“The Famous “Andrea” Shares Her Top Event Highlights”:

I went from earning – well a lot less than I could – to being approached by an online marketing genius (may he rest in peace) who invested in me, to having personal relationships with many whom I only admired from afar in the past, to gaining serious leverage as a result of all the above, and the ONLY reason I am not seeing the figures I would be otherwise is due to very unfortunate circumstances that has naturally caused a very big setback (refer to may he rest in peace above for clarification).

      NEXT:

      4 Do the local circuit

Become your OWN tupperware party! What do I mean? If you know about online marketing, then you are in the .00001% of the population who does. Whenever I leave my house to hang out with the common people :) , everyone wants a piece of you. I mean we are skilled in a multi billion dollar industry of how to make money online from HOME. I could be next to Pamela Anderson and still wow the crowd (man.. this ego trip is out of control today!)

      MILK IT!!

Want Proof? Anytime I run into a group of people who are interested, I am able to do one of the following:

      1. If they have an online business, take money from them to tell them why it sucks. It usually does. and it could ALWAYS be better.
      2. Tell them to collect a bunch of people and charge per head to have an evening of live q&a on whatever it is that separates them from not having a clue to getting it. Then you furnish them with an affiliate laden options list and let them move on.. of course they could always pay for private consulting.
      3. Create a partnership (although usually less inclined since too busy). Here you leverage other peoples unique talents and your skills to do a joint venture. Advisable if you come across a real winner..
      4. Get more exposure which leads to all sorts of possibilities.. similar to my online videos, just on a local scale.

Just to be honest.. I give away a lot of information for free.. If you enjoy what you do, the adrenaline is obvious, and people respond to it! I mean if making money from home online wasnt enough of a selling point, seeing someone happy and excited certainly helps! This blog is free, there is ample free stuff online. Its not like I am telling them something they cant discover on their own if they had the time, the patience and the skills. I respect that and am happy to give away the farm.

Then WORD OF MOUTH spreads and you can be your own guru to the locals.

      NEXT:

      5 Rewards based work.

This blog post is referring to those who are looking to make a million dollars since they will work hard for it, have the drive, ambition, passion, and ability to succeed. Everyone else inherits it, marries it, or is in Hollywood.

Approach a big company and tell them what you can do for them and that your earnings will be a %age share on the growth of the company. This requires some careful attention to detail and hard work, but if they have some capital willing to back you up, this could be a great golden ticket, since those %age residuals could be very cushy and you would certainly earn the respect of the company, and the referrals would define your continual rise to the top of the food chain.

Want Proof? Working on it ;) .

P.S. If you just can’t WAIT and want to know how everyone else is doing it – then you will want to check this out.

      So.. the bad news..

      I lost a great babysitter.

The good news? I am going to get all the juicy details about her new job.

As you know I live in Jerusalem, Israel. What you may not know – the locals are a melting pot of lots of ANGLOS, well in addition to a few other people :) . If you are looking to open a Call Center, due to the high volume of educated, perfectly accented English speaking, willing to work for low pay individuals, Israel is YOUR move!!

Therefore the Call Center industry is HUGE here, the companies are just working harder to secure deals in European countries, since many of the jobs require very odd working hours .. 8 pm to 4 am is NOT uncommon.

Ok, so my Hawaiian house help, who was sticking around here for a while after meeting her Israeli boyfriend in Thailand, is currently working the following job: Jeremy Estes should pay attention, since I think you actually make money doing this even small time, so imagine the possibilities of big time.

An online ‘web’ directory is created and the focus is on specific niche areas. House painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.. The cold callers aka ex Hawaiian househelp receive a list of leads from each city, which is as easy as collecting a phone book, and approaches them with a “Could you handle more business?” the pitch continues with “We are only looking to find reputable people in the field, and if you meet our standards, we will list you in our online directory that is accessible blah blah blah..” then they say a few sentences that probably goes over most people’s heads.. “we are partnering with such and such sites, etc.”.. I am certain in addition to cold callers they do have a full time (outsourced people!!) backlink builders, and SEO specialists..

If you have the right script in front of you, and usually just ONE local business on board to start, then it should not be too hard to convince someone else to sign up! Meaning the conversion rate of sales made per call is much higher than it would be if you were sending the business to a direct sales page.

Dont be scared to work it OFFLINE to succeed ONLINE.

They charge $100/month for one LINK on their site. They do offer their callers a HUGE chunk of the first month as a commission, but this is all about continuity and the long term. It does seem daunting to be paying a base salary + the bulk of the first months earnings to your employees.. but when the 2nd month rolls around and the members are charged automatically, while your staff is generating more sales.. you are then on the road to serious business!

All it takes is ONE WEBSITE!!! and a bunch of gullible small business people who think the word Website is like what the immigrants thought of the word AMERICA!! Gold RUSH (oh and for many, America / Websites is the REAL DEAL!!)

Here is to YOUR personal Gold Rush!

      • Building your Mojo in Orlando and Kosher Wine

    •
One of the most inspirational speakers at the Rockin Conference I attended in Orlando was Gary Vaynerchuk. He has his game on 100% and will no doubt own the NY JETS one day :) . His passion is palpable and he literally sat there for HOURS after his speech, definitely hungry and tired.. until everyone felt that they had whatever piece of him he could give before moving on.

Some people, as Frank Kern so expertly delivered at the conference, have to do deep introspection to figure out WHO THEY ARE before being able to take over your market. You become 100% true to yourself, be 100% true to your Market, and the rest will follow.. Gary was BORN with it, and it seeps from his being. He was trying to teach it, and yeh.. some people will get lucky, and will train themselves how to market from their CORE.. but it may just be you either HAVE it or you DONT. Well let’s rephrase that. Everyone HAS something.. its just owning up to that and being great at it.

So can I make a living being a flirt lol.. I probably could.

As I went over to winelibrarytv.com to see Gary in action, I thought it was pretty ironic that the episode of the day, #422, is all about Kosher Wines. Do you know Gary that the symbol for tourism in Israel is 2 figures holding HUGE grapes! Well some of you may know where that Biblical story came from, and it didnt exactly turn out great, but the logo stuck.. – Check it out —> Israel Tourism Symbol Grapes
I especially love how Gary says one of the wines smells like Bacon. Wonder if he knows Bacon is way up high on the NON Kosher list :) . So Gary, this chick from Israel thanks you and appreciates you for your appearance in Orlando, your personal time, your inspiration, and the support you gave our products today!

      Right back at ya:

P.S – One thing that Gary has are FANS. TRUE fans. I dont think you would believe me if I told you HOW many people visit this blog, and READ, but DONT comment! Be a part of the conversation. It’s so much more fun for both of us, and then I can get to know you better, and maybe share with you some of my secrets hahaha.. seriously dont be scared. I know you are out there!!

My favorite Disney Picture (I was at the conference, so didnt get much Disney time therefore my Mom and Sis have all the pics!) so my ONLY picture from our trip – 2 of the kids sleeping on the plane.

Ayden and Elisha Sleeping on the Plane - Lying together. Precious

Parting words of the day: Brand Yourself through Your strengths and Talents, Fans will Follow, and the rest will Happen.

I know I promised this video 2 days ago, but 2 things happened:

      1) I got tired. Sorry. It happens occassionally. I will try not to let it happen again.

      2) I decided last minute to remove all references to a report I was promoting in the VIDEO. Not because I dont find it worthy of promoting, in fact I am.. right HERE and read below.. but I wanted the video to be more timeless and well.. have the potential to promote ME :) . However, instead of re-recording, I just took the same footage and chopped it up even more!

As is typical.. just as I am getting ready to do something, someone else comes along with a big bang! Andrew Cavanagh wrote a thread on the Warrior Forum suggesting similar ideas to what I mention in my video. As I suspected would happen, people were like WOW.. meaning the idea never occured to them. I did not actually see the thread in the forum. I think it was removed so he could instead pitch the idea and sell it. I advise you to check out this $19.99 product since unlike many other products where you purchase and dont know what you are getting, he has his original forum post in his sales pitch and there are no secrets.

What you are getting in this report (< -- link) are tips to approach businesses, lingo with with to approach them, how to build up referrals (which it really is all about), services to offer, prices to charge, outsourcing suggestions, and some basic SEO practices.. Basically helps you fill in the holes. Not to hype it up, but his price will only remain for a while, since that is the rules of this forum! Be expected for a serious hike in the next few days.

By the way I am quite serious about what I wrote in the video. If you go out and get the clients, I will take half (well assuming you charge them enough!), and show you how to get it done. It wont take long for you to cut out the middle man, and do it for yourself! So go ahead and click contact!

Recently I was so overwhelmed that I had a visceral reaction.

What caused me to feel soooo overwhelmed, when I am usually pretty lacking in the emotional department?

      THE POSSIBILITIES AND THE IMPOSSIBILITY!!!

When you see the Web as I do, it is one cash vault after another…. and regardless of which direction you choose, you cant possibly leverage the web to do it ALL..

With so many Web 2.0 Social Networking sites up..

How many of you are taking advantage of them ALL to their fullest possibilities?
How many are even scratching the surface?

So imagine if you were aware of not only the vastness of all the WAYS to promote your ideas, but the IDEAS themselves were in great numbers… Can YOU imagine the feeling???!!

It is IMPOSSIBLE to Hit all the POSSIBILITIES…

Unless you are in a great groove and doing extremely well in one market.. here is a possible solution:

If you have the capital to afford, you can hire several people to each specialize in a different area and hit as many areas as you can. Most people will work for a decent price since they will appreciate the education you are providing – you could possibly even get interns! Then if one area does particularly well, ramp it up a bit, and find which works for you. Now I know this is a focused persons nightmare, but I dont know if it works anymore to JUST be doing one thing or another.

Many potential employers will ask you where do you want to see yourself in 3 or 5 years from now? Yes, we have all answered that question.. but with the fast cash being made on the latest web trends, the ONLY answer will be .. “if done right, whatever terms we make today will seem SO ridiculous in a few years from now”…. and if you are working on the web, whether as an employee, moonlighter, or BOTH, and this is NOT the case for you.. then you will have to live with all the money lost, and all the millionaires that were created while you trudged along slowly.

So what is it YOU do?

*Rat Race worker who moonlights on the web hoping it will take you somewhere
*A WAHM doing some ecommerce site/service in order to be home with your children
*An affiliate marketer with either a list, or PPC arbitrage, etc.
*A niche marketer making money off your niche via affiliate sales, product creation, etc.
*A consultant helping others get started online via specific services – IM in general, copywriting, etc..
*A web person building sites, SEO, what have you
*An adventurous on the fringe player making money with whatever is the latest trend
      *A Resale Rights marketer
*An employee for a marketing company work in or out of an office

      or
