When I spoke at Affilicon in June, I was interviewed (on the spot) a few times. My first reaction when viewing these videos online was to pretend they never happened. In fact, I don’t think I even watched this whole video through (that’s real inspiring to get you to do so haha)

So I happened upon this video in a search the other day, and watch it to the end! This is a lot less painful with enounce / myspeed since most people sound much more intelligent when you speed them up, including yours truly.

Anyway, I guess enough time has passed that I don’t think I sound particularly intelligent, but … well, tell me what YOU think. I can take it. Really.

MORAL OF THE STORY: (especially if you are a target for being put on the spot, as any speaker at an event should be prepared for)

Have a few GREAT answers to questions that people typically want to know. How hard is that to do? Most interviewers will be flexible to direct the conversation where you want it to go, but if you throw in a few intelligent lines, it can hopefully gloss over the less Ahh and Umm moments.

I am working on my list of answers, but happy (eager?) to steal any great ones from you if you are willing to Share Below in the comments. Go for it!

I have a pretty healthy fascination with celebrities. In fact this following story seems 100% entirely normal, dontcha think?

I see the movie Stand by Me and really love it. I am obsessed with the main character Gordie Lachance. I want to ease his pain. Maybe a year later, I am sitting in a doctors office in Atlanta, and I am convinced that the boy sitting across from me is Gordie!

I call my brother and insist he hits the credits on the video. This was prehistoric times, so it required me to ask the doctors office to use their phone, and my brother had to take the VHS and fast forward to the end to find out. The answer is Wil Wheaton and it’s no match on the patient list. Not too obsessive, right?

Skip to decades later and I enter twitter preparing to conquer.. I check out the heavy users and when I see an avatar and the name @wilw .. somehow I just KNOW that it’s my Wil ! I am loving my gut instincts from way back that my crush from so long ago is now a tech geek! (and currently more of a celeb in that arena)

Moving on…

big heavies in the industry are popping up everyday. E V E R Y D A Y!!!

As of today – My Twitter Hot Top Celebrities:

@evanlowenstein – you know – half of the identical twin duo who sing that hit song Crazy for this Girl, and the illustrious brother of yours truly.

@aplusk – Ashton kutcher – I have NEVER seen his work (except for Cheaper by the Dozen), but I love his holy tweets (lots of Kabbalah) and the work he has done with Demi

@mrskutcher – Demi Moore. I wish her tweets could talk, so I could hear her voice. Can I say that?

@johncmayer – John Mayer – still warming up, very few replies to other tweeters, but he is 140 characters of pleasure, very clever and witty

@the_real_shaq – Shaquille O’Neil – so unpretentious. The real shaq is REAL

@ewanmcgregor – Ewan Mcgregor – Scottish Moulin Rouge honey. Follow me dude.

@lancearmstrong – Lance Armstrong – You got to love hearing “getting the kids off to school” and then just back from a 6 hr ride – 110 miles. Very empowering!

@johncleese – John Cleese – One of the leading members of Monty Python. I love me my English humour!

New on my radar:

@coldplay – Coldplay – The band. I think their music is some of the hottest stuff out there, so I expect very sharp lyrical 140 character tweets.

@davejmathews – Dave Mathews – Ditto with above.

I have some questions for you:

Q: If you could communicate with a celebrity, who would you WANT to see?

Q: Celebrities can now speak for themselves – will the tabloids go out of business?

Q: Do you think the word celebrity will embrace a new definition with the lowly people able to access them SO DARN EASILY!?

You will probably laugh, but I learned a lot about what it meant to have healthy and honest friendships from the TV show ‘Friends’.

6 characters had less than 30 minutes to share an engaging storyline involving all of them equally. When an issue arose, which it often did, the friends had to communicate, sometimes with brutal honesty… without sabotaging their relationship.

After spending too many years avoiding conflict at all costs, suddenly we were witnessing that Monica and Rachel could be at each other’s throats, (sometimes literally) and then be best friends again.

No hard feelings. Wow. That level of honesty may seem like it could only work on TV, but they were onto something….

I was enlightened, and intrigued.

Twitter, the home of 140 characters or less, brings this communication style more into the mainstream. Communication 2.0.

Our lives are sitcoms, we don’t have time for unnecessary chit chat. Twitter understands our fast paced lives, and allows us to decide who we want in our circle, woo them with our short tweets. Maybe become friends, or business partners. I have witnessed it all.

It’s my kind of instant gratification, say it like it is, a little bit (lot) narcissistic, allowing us to be voyeurs into the lives of people who would never give you their real phone number (hint..like MINE).

Just saying, if you have been missing me, you may find me there.

Are you using Twitter? If so, for what purposes and what have you discovered? I am a bit surprised how it started off as a Marketing tool and now is touted as the next possible Facebook.

Move fast people.

And follow me

Pretty much everyone out there in the blogosphere who has some involvement with anything internet knows about the very successful blogger <a href="http://www.johnchow.com" target=_blank">John Chow. Except GOOGLE!! I searched ‘John Chow blog’, and he was Nowhere to be found! Same results for ‘John Chow’.

My first thought was concern for myself (its all about me!).. the more well known I become in my market, the more other, more successful online marketers will write about me. A search for Andrea Yager brought you here first + some other resources that I was personally responsible for. Now that I am on <a href="http://www.strategicprofits.com" target=_blank">other peoples lips (and pages).. I will have to work harder to maintain my #1 spot for my name on the Search Engines..

Next thought… was DUH.. John Chow is like a web genius – do you really think searching for his name should show the hilarious <a href="http://www.johncow.com" target=_blank">John Cow? Google is smarter.. so I suspect some tug of war going on.. and

NOTE TO SELF: Start SEO’ing the Keywords John Chow Making Money Online Blogger since I have a better chance of getting that Organic traffic than he does. Also wonder what John Cow did right in his life to have this twist of fortune.

I finally had a chance to make money doing something I, ahem.. LOVE..

<a href="http://tinyurl.com/283a7f" target=_blank">PayPerPost is offering $12 to write a post about Johnny Depp. ANYTHING about him. His new movie is coming out in the theaters, so paying people to write about him.. will certainly get the web buzzing. Gee, as if the web is ever buzzing about anything else.

Well, ignoring the fact that I have not been signed up to PPP long enough to be accepted (about 2 hours lol) and that I am doing this as a gratuitous gesture to the wonder that is JD, here is my part.

What does Johnny Depp have to do with Internet Marketing?

He got his fame by being a controversial character with integrity.

He maintained it by adding value to the users experience.

He is a true Maven in his market, and has even successfully reinvented himself from being a funky volatile punk to a funky loving father. He is an artist to be watched to see what he will do next.

I have no other reasons to be watching him. None Whatsoever. No really.

I have been trying to add real content and give to YOU what you want. The problem is that YOU are not joining the conversation here. Occassionally YOU leave a comment, let me know you are interested in what I have to say..

but often.. I am just passing time out loud. Have I failed at grabbing YOUR attention?

I am also so busy building up business/es that I dont have time to read YOUR blogs.. why should you have time for mine.. I understand completely, but just know.. I am here for YOU when / if you need me.

Guess I will have to talk about ME again..

I have created Yet another video. Yet another Putting myself OUT there.. I am my own WEB 2.0 vehicle. Can you Andrea that??

<a href="http://www.strategicprofits.com" target=_blank">Rich Schefren is hosting a contest that makes the Next Internet Millionaire look like a childs tea party.. What is on offer? 4 prizes to 4 winners! Access to Rich and Jay Abraham, free entry to their seminar in Disney, Free copy of the Business Accelleration Program and $1000!..

A follower of Rich, and a <a href="http://www.linkedin-entrepreneurs.com/profiles/blog/show?id=804293%3ABlogPost%3A12067" target=_blank">new fan of mine, collected the top 25 videos for this contest, including mine of course, and said -

Andrea Yager’s entry – probably the reason this contest exists! and then when he included my other video.. (I think this is what spawned Rich’s contest!). He may not even know about my decapitation video from.. you guessed it 130 days ago (give or take)!

Can someone put that PLUG for ME on a billboard and digg and sphinn it? I mean if that isnt worth a ride on Space Mountain.. me being the muse behind the vehicle that is spitting out 100’s of free infomercials for my good friend, and fellow junk food maven, <a href="http://www.strategicprofits.com/" target=_blank">Rich.. then I dont know WHAT IS. Someone else who KNOWS me, KNOWS my mad marketing skills and capabilities said.. what was Joel Comm’s loss will be Rich Schefrens gain. Yes.. you have me right where you want me.

SO.. without further adieu.. here is my latest video.. but hang on and wait for voting instructions. Since I dont know how to effectively share information, cant be too outrageous in Jerusalem, and am too witty to be compelling.. I am expecting to be in the humorous category. They better put me in the humorous category. If they dont it will be cuz they dont want me to win!!

My almost call to Action:

Await my loyal fans and readers for further instructions. I know the cheesiest line EVER is that if I win, YOU win, since I will share what I learn with you. Sure at a price of $479 but you can be a JV and buy via your own affiliate link, since I am just super nice like that LOL..

I dont think anyone understands where all those videos from YouTube came from?? Who ARE those people who uploaded clip after clip and what were they thinking?? How did they know?

Sure I head over to YouTube when I am in the mood for some nostalgia or to check out a favorite scene from an old sitcom/movie.. but when you come across something like this, you have to wonder:

WHO created WHO??

and how about this – would these prisoners in the Phillipines have done this (this is one of many videos) if there was NO audience??:

I am compelled to ask..

What came first?

The BLOG or The BLOGGER?

Blogging has given me, amongst countless others, the chance to re-develop writing skills shelved since College, create online conversations with colleagues, earn a little money (if you will it..), and again.. put myself OUT THERE.. an additional contribution towards our ‘audition’ to the world..

since isnt that what it has all become about??

WEB 2.0 = ONLINE AUDITIONING.

Trying to get discovered in some way.. from Google, other bloggers, future clients, future advertisers.

Can you be a shy blogger who sits in the corner with your nose in a book, doesnt make friends easily, even if you are a Geek, and understand computers, and be successful?

hmm – a little all over the place today!

You were saying??
Now I am the geek, but back then I was attracted to them!

The Yager addition came with marriage but I am still legally Lowenstein.. I just love that name.

My favorite author is Pat Conroy. He wrote the ‘Lords of Discipline’, ‘The Great Santini’, and ‘The Prince of Tides’.

Imagine reading a book by your favorite author and the main character shares your last name… and is the last 2 written words of the Movie / BOOK??

How AWESOME is that?? Ok, so it could be someone other than Nick Nolte, but he was once the sexiest man alive according to People magazine, so thats good enough for me .

What does this have to do with Internet Marketing?

You could say affiliate marketing, had I been resourceful enough to place the links to the movie, so I could make a commission should someone choose to buy – although I didnt do that.

You could say ‘Branding’ – the importance of name selection and using it properly. To have the emotional build up of a novel and movie resort to a single word being the last 2 words read/spoken is pretty heavy duty and is expected to resonate.. I was definitely branded as a ‘Lowenstein’ when growing up – for better or worse (oh it was Better!)

You could say that I am using keywords to direct traffic to my page.. for when all my old friends and classmates do a search on me.. they will find me on this page. Hey Guys! (they are all wondering.. was it me she went out with?? maybe!)

You could say that this has nothing to do with Internet Marketing, but when a post takes as long to complete as the last few have, sometimes you need to lighten it up!

I was sitting down with company this weekend, and was asked, as I am often asked…

what do you do for a living?

I dont actually have a ‘pat’ answer, its rather a continual moronic way of using whatever words come to my mind at the time, usually something that will have the listener nodding and thinking.. ‘oh my gosh, poor girl CANT even explain what she does for a living!!’

BUT Internet Marketing is REALLY hard to explain !!

Not to mention, can you call something a living if it is not your primary earnings, and it is not enough to be called an income… YET.

I explain to her as mentioned above.. and you know what she said??

”That must be in high demand”

I look at her, like.. duh I know that!!

But how well do I know that and what does that mean to my bank account? Meaning I am VERY VERY VERY well versed in all things Internet Marketing.. <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/whats-the-beef-with-traffic-heres-the-meat-10-free-traffic-tips/" target=_blank">Traffic, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/email-marketing-the-money-is-in-the-list/" target=_blank">Mailing Lists, Conversions, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/the-other-side-of-google/" target=_blank">PPC, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/mastering-web-20-one-site-at-a-time/" target=_blank">Web 2.O, Lead Generation, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/affiliate-marketing-101/" target=_blank">Affiliates, Article Marketing, Bum Marketing, Niche Marketing, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/google-adsense-101/" target=_blank">Adsense, <a href="http://getstartedtodayonline.com/are-you-a-confused-blogger-having-my-blog-and-eating-it-too/" target=_blank">Blogging, you NAME IT!!

I look at web sites and they SCREAM AT ME with what they are lacking and how much more they could be earning.. Just because a business took it ‘online’, does not make them internet marketers…

I know there are big time companies that charge big time money for dressing in suits and using big time lingo to make you big time lost and you say… “help = here is my big time money – just make it work”.

There are those who can actually do it (use their IM skills to make themselves money), and others who are better at preaching it. I am not neglecting the former as an option, by any means… but I really want to do that so it can be bring me more credibility to do the latter more successfully..

Before I started my online business, I was actually very successful at hosting <a href="http://www.justmoving.co.il" target=_blank">moving / estate sales in my local town. I could juggle a crowd of 100+ with no problems, and the best part of each job was that I jumped in with 2 feet, got very into it.. but then when the job was done, it was over.. I received my money and moved on to the next one. I am not quite sure why I have been sabotaging this business that was so good to me – maybe the drug of working online + having small children helped to assuage the guilt of leaving so much money on the table to try my hand at this game.

However, this same idea is what I now welcome…. Give me your problem, let me solve it for you, take my money.. and NEXT..

I mean that in the nicest way .

I loved doing my moving sales, and I will love helping YOU. (or your money back!)

Not a likely name for a successful site. Their logo is an image of a tadpole of sorts?? Gee maybe its really a Squiddo and I have no idea what a squiddo is.. DUHÂ

Â

Â

Yet they, along with MySpace, etc… are completely changing the way the web works. Now its all about the user experience.  The first user experience style site was really Amazon. They offered readers to post reviews of the books they purchased, and of course, they offer this now for every product. This was such a unique feature at the time, and it has since given birth to soo many sites that people probably would give all the credit to YouTube as being the introducer of this concept.

Â

I wrote this mile long post about MySpace with all the juicy details and links to how to make your own page, and add friends, and then my computer froze, and I lost it all. I got so annoyed that I could not rewrite it.  I know Myspace is like the 5th most visited site on the web, but I find it dull.

Â

Am I showing my age?

Â

I know there is tons of money to be made on MySpace, and the good news is that these kids that are signing up in droves (over 200,000 per day) will not be between 15-30 forever.. they are growing up before our eyes and MySpace will figure out a way to keep them in their grasp.. hence only more money making opportunities will arise and the faster you get in… well you know the rest.

Since I cant rewrite that post, I am offering you a limited opportunity to get your hands on the entire scoop, with step by step instructions of how to earn $$$$ on MySpace. If you follow these steps, you absolutely will succeed with MySpace -
