How I Make Money

Everybody has a story. I got a good one too. And it’s ripe with hard work, discoveries, frustrations, success, tragedy, opportunities, etc.. maybe some of you have been there with me through it all, or jumped in somewhere along the way, or are we just meeting?
While I work on crafting this story, let me tell you what you really want to know. How I make money, and Why you should listen to me? Well, maybe the first will answer the second?
*DISCLAIMER: - some of my readers here have children who go to school with my children. Maybe not literally, I live in an extremely tight knit community. If you want to consult with me privately about NUMBERS I earn, that is fine. In fact I have even placed some proof of earnings on one or two occasions on this blog, but not now.
Here is how I make money:
*Just Added! I wanted to clear it up first what exactly I am allowed to ’share’. Since March of this year (2008) I have been on Jeff Walker’s team, helping with the launch of Product Launch Formula (PLF 2.0) and his monthly membership program. All I can say here is WOW, but imagine being on the inside of one of the biggest launches of IM history? Yeh, it was / is a learning experience.
I own several niche information products. They are NOT in the IM niche. They have an affiliate program at Clickbank, and create some nice passive income. Whenever I spend some time on them, or outsource work, they perform even better.
I have bought and sold several websites. Buy low. Sell high. Buy run down, repair, decorate, and sell for a killing. If those concepts sound familiar, well it works with ‘Virtual Real Estate’ as well.
I have several Authority Sites. Authority sites means that others view your site as an ‘authority’ on the subject due to your page rank, alexa ranking, content, etc.. These sites make money via email marketing, google adsense, affiliate sales, product creation and/or JV (joint venture) projects. You may call this blog an authority site, but I didn’t have it in mind when I wrote this.
I dabble in Pay-Per-Click. After seeing how it’s REALLY done, it’s both intoxicating to know the possibilities, and scary to see how fast the money goes. As I am too busy to keep a close watch, I stick to very targeted campaigns, mine or for affiliates, and JV on some others.
I get out there. I create opportunities. I put myself in the public eye, go to conventions / meet ups / conferences. When you read the ‘invested’ project from the tab below, that financing came 100% from doing this.
This blog. I choose to keep this clean, and not littered with information to take you AWAY from here. Therefore, this blog earns actually very little $$.. however, in terms of the opportunities it has brought me, well.. I dont think I could attach a value.
What I am currently working on:
A membership site. This will supply recurring income. I am combining list building, blogging, affiliate, email, social, video and viral marketing to create actually something very simple. And did you pick up on the recurring part? Just checking.
An affiliate directory for a specific niche topic. Go ahead and do this yourself. I dont need a visitor to buy everything. I just need them to select one. Every option pays.
Newbie focused interview series. I have been interviewing lots of experts in their areas, and trying to break it down to simplify it for ‘newbies’. A heavily invested project that you could say is a dream in the making. Look for more details very soon.. but I am putting in writing that I am planning on this site paying the bills, and catching the eyes of some bigger fish and being bought out for a gazillion dollars.
What I SHOULD be doing:
Taking YOUR money. I actually Excel, if I am allowed to say something nice about myself here, at creative marketing. It does not take me long to see possibilities, and I have always been ahead of the market trends. Actually too ahead! I didnt know what to do with the information I was so ahead.
I had a consulting page up for a while and took it down for a long time. I found a general discord between those saying ‘I make money online’, but hey.. ‘give me your money too’. I took some time off to just focus on the making money online part.
However, I really missed the people. Reconnecting with so many like-minded people on twitter (twitter.com/andreayager) and seeing how much help everyone can be to others in 140 characters or less..has reminded me to not ignore that which I do really well!
I love being able to use that keen marketing sense and quadruple someone else’s profits. My brother says, no one can be their own doctor, and well - how often do you find yourself giving great advice to others, but in such desparate need of your own?
I am going to be extremely honest that I am putting this up because MAYBE, just MAYBE you can afford me. Go ahead and contact me and I will try to go easy on you.
