Rich Schefren, one of the top business coaches online today, has done it AGAIN!!
A year or two ago he sent waves through the net with his Manifestos, drawing attention to how many businesses/individuals lack a good business strategy. Following this, he opened up his coaching program, and became a household name among online marketers (and probably started getting flooded with credit cards).
This time, his report highlights how we have accelerated quickly past the information age into the interruption age, and are sitting pretty in the attention age.. There is so much technology and ‘life’ being thrown at us, that small business owners have to work double time to acheive the same results, and we spend most of our days being unproductive..
Check out this free report HERE.
I for one can attest to that. I know that I have children, including a baby who likes to be held, but why does it take me days sometimes to get one complete blog post written?
Rich is offering a nice bonus for the individual who drums up the most attention for his new report.
I created 2 videos. The first was meant to be the only one, but the comments I heard encouraged me to make another one:
“disgusting”
“immoral”
“awesome”
“you may finally have success”
“bad taste”
It was that last one that didnt sit well with me. I am quite the G-d fearing girl and didnt want to be leaving videos around the web with ‘bad taste’. Although, since it was totally a matter of opinion, I still left it up to be seen and will include the links here..
In the 2nd video, I removed the ‘offensive’ material and made some other changes.. This is called the ‘clean version’ and used most of the material of the first video changing the last 30 seconds or so. Maybe less people will wonder what the heck is going on when they view this one!
My video example highlights more how I personally am trying to juggle my work, family life, other commitments.. I imagine growing up in a Mom and Pop rural town before the new technology must have had it’s advantages.. Well in a matter of years we have gone from Mom and Pop to everyone being able to peek into each others rooms, lives, culture, etc.. One of the reasons I want to earn more money is to actually have more time to enjoy all the new technology, information, entertainment the world has to provide (sans the smut)
My first video I attempted to do something attention grabbing. Check out this video and be warned… you may not want to watch with children around.. Second to stripping (not happening) I tried to use whatever means I had available to me and my NON existant video creation skills to illustrate that I know how to grab attention!
Here is video 1: Rated R
Let me know what you thought of it ![]()
Here is video #2: Rated G
I hope you guys enjoyed my efforts. I worked very very VERY VERY hard. I may have used some other props, but that baby is all MINE + the Mom who needs computer help + the other 3 children + job + working for myself + a car with no a/c in the MIDDLE EAST heat…as I write this my children are playing doctor as me being the patient.. but Rich, I am all HERE. 100% focused
and ready for part II.

Hi Andrea:
This is just my 2 cents…and of course you could disagree.
Just saw your two videos. I was thinking that between the two of them, a third edited version would work better than the G rated video..it seemed to miss an ending…well the one that you omitted..
the first video ending…was harsh…but I actually think it was effective and fine if you just removed the part where you are lying on the ground (I would end it at the 2:29) mark…the last thing you see is your hair and no face and then fade it to a written message rather than the body on the ground and the voice at the end saying go get the report. (This leaves the viewers to their imagination and doesn’t make them fixate on the head on the ground.) Also by switching from your special effect and closeup of your hair and face to a normal visual and long shot view of your body seemed to be abrupt.
If you are going to do that visual…I would have kept the special effect right through to the end….otherwise I would leave that part out.
Your creativity is awesome!
Best of luck to you!

Oh…I know the point of that last bit was the “blood and gore” …so leaving out that last part as I mentioned earlier obviously wouldn’t show blood and gore…so if the visual could be a splash of red across the screen on your head and hair close up shot…that…would be effective.

Alisande,
Hi! I am so glad you have come over here to play
and I certainly value your opinions, you little genius..
I can beat myself up over these, as I did the NIM videos… when you have an idea and limited time, its only after submitting that all the other ideas running through your head seem MUCH better..
I know you didnt ask and this is completly off topic, but hey.. its my Blog and I can say what I want :)!!
I have 2 major limitations:
1) I HAVE NO VIDEO skillz!! The only thing I can mess around with is Windows movie maker, which I taught myself the basics and is very easy….. I am sure it does much more than I am currently aware of. Now that I write this, I forgot about their close up tool.. dang.!!
2) I have no problem taking chances, putting myself out there, and hoping for the best - and as a fellow contestant, I know you agree .. but when my son comes home and tells me he made $2.5 that day and wants to know how much I made, and my answer is less than that.. well I have to then take a step back from some of the ‘fun’ I am having and start paying for shoes and what not

PS - I didnt mention the kids since we make choices and I wont use that choice as a reason for not being able to get things done or whatever… but of course…. that didnt give me lots of bonus time

Hi Andrea:
Heyah!…in comment to your 1)…..I know exactly what you mean about having to make do with what you have and work around the limitations. I believe the resourceful person manages to get more done with less tools than the one who isn’t who has tons available to them….you certainly fit the first category

I hope we see an announcement about you in the next few weeks……

Andrea,
I liked the G-rated video better. I see what you were trying to do with the R rated video, but I don’t think that the whole “horror” thing has mass appeal. Your creativity is great, I think you should focus on using your sense of humor to create buzz. Your R rated video may be controversial enough to get you more attention, but I have mixed feelings about using controvery for promotional purposes.
Just my 2 cents…
Andrea (July 9th, 2007 at 6:13 pm )
I agree and I agree..
so if Rich doesnt contact me in the next 24-48 hours to say that I either won a private consultation or $1000, then I am taking it down..
George, Alisande.. what should the subject of my next video be? Start the next blog challenge George, so I can do something fun…
moving on to answer your next comment..

I LOVED your video…probably because I could relate so well!
Women who have so many people relying on them, trying to bring in income and yet still be there for those people have to make many hard choices every day….KIDS?…BUSINESS?…Mom?…Husband?…HOUSEWORK?…COOK?…
FOCUS??? Definately easier said than done! But, none the less, necessary!
We just need to help each other become successful so we can HIRE someone to do everything we DON’T WANT to do and then pour our PASSION into what we LOVE to do.
Is that what Rich said? …hmmmm

Glad to see I made it into your horror flick, nice job!
Andrea (July 13th, 2007 at 8:35 am )
Eric,
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure when you, Rich, and Joel get together you have an arm wrestle and let me know…
Debbie,
Thanks for loving the video!!! I am happy to help each other become successful.. I linked to your site from within a post a few days ago - hope that is a small start :)!
