    • I was sitting down today trying to decide what to write about. I had a post all ready to go about a friend who is offering cheap hosting for life – as in you pay a fee one time, and then you never pay again. Sounds exciting right? Well, as I was asking for some more details, he informed me that his server was hacked and *expletive*, *expletive*, *expletive*…

so I had to regroup… and a post will be coming about top rated hosts. I am in the middle of switching and have lots to share.. such as how I wrote this ENTIRE post, went to sleep, and woke up to see it GONE, since the migration of my site happened BEFORE I wrote the post, and it was LOST… *expletive*, *expletive*, *expletive*…

So get used to todays topic, since It is also a MISSION…

I have been around the workforce enough to recognize 2 types of workers (there are MANY more, but we will focus on these for now)

      • Next Internet Millionaire Round II

    • I have so much to write about this show I dont know where to start. Here are some random thoughts:

      1) Being a Round II contestant (video below), Its getting way too personal, so … www.andreayager.com is borne and will be online shortly to continue discussing it, while allowing me to maintain my focus and purpose for this blog. Lesson to be learned here – BRANDING!! So if your name becomes a BRAND, run with it! (should I not get selected it may rot on my hard drive along with so many other ideas and plans that burnt out)

        2) I am looking forward to NEXT year almost MORE than this year.. That may sound odd considering I hope to be a PART of this show, but I am certain Joel, Eric, the producers, etc. will learn a LOT (as will we all) from this experience and next year will be the refined version. Not to mention, I expect the publicity from this event will bring in, what we can only hope, a LOT more contestants, with the bar of video submissions being raised significantly.

        3) Some mudslinging is already happening over on the Forum.. Seems one contestant is trying to pave the road to be the Resident Meanie, and secure himself a spot on the show as the ‘will take anyone down who gets in my path’. I know they want a show that entertains, but not sure at what or whose expense.. I have never seen any reality shows :) .. Just a few episodes of American Idol. I was so off in who they selected to the 2nd round, that I hesitate to make any assumptions about what they actually want and jump to any conclusions…. unless it includes me participating!

        4) Thanks to those who have made mention to ME and LIKING ME :) As most bloggers, I pay a close watch to Blogs linking to me – and lo and behold…..

Someone picked me out as one of the few videos he mentioned me on a Squidoo Lens on the next internet millionaire subject, and George Manty, a blogger from the Stompernet $1 trial, wrote in his Awesome blog to Give Andrea and Cliff (another contestant) a Perfect 10!

Guys – George KNOWS his business…
Here is my 2nd video for your viewing pleasure… Below that you can watch the trailer to get an idea of what it’s all about! again……Next Internet Millionaire The Trailer:

    • I thought I was going to get my life back… as in back to regular full time mommy, full time part time job, full time part time running a small business, full time part time running this blog, full time part time working on other residual streams of income, etc. etc.. but then.. 2 things happened:

      1) I MADE IT TO THE TOP 50!!! for nextinternetmillionaire.com. I have to submit a new video by tomorrow night (aka tonight since its after midnight) and try out to get a spot as one of the ‘lucky 12′.. if you call going on a show and possibly getting humiliated and kicked off right away lucky that is! Well.. I am not so pleased with how my video is turning out. I think I like the idea, but I cant do it properly without professional video graphics, of which I dont have access or knowledge of.

      Check out the top50

      2) My continuation with StomperNet – I orignally signed up last month for a $1 trial period of a month. They are otherwise known as the group that ‘Stomps the search engine’ and has a pretty large group of successful online entrepreuners paying $797 per month. Knowing full well that I could not continue at that price, I expected it to be a one month glimpse. However, they rolled out their $97/month option and I decided to do it for at least this month. First of all, they deserve it for what they gave me for $1, second of all.. I did not have the time to follow through last months work due to number 1) above!!

      • Outsourcing Blues…Avoid the Mess I am in..

    • Outsourcing is 2 things:

      1. Hiring someone to do that which you CAN’T do:

Need a better design, database programming, or blogging plugins, but technically unable?? Go on over to my outsourcer of choice -Scriptlance (BUT FIRST READ THIS ENTIRE POST!!) and get it done for a great price…

      2. Hiring someone to do that which you dont WANT to do:

Due to number 1, Outsourcing is ‘Kosher’, otherwise its a little Elitist – those who put a higher $ to their time, outsource ‘time consuming’ or ‘menial’ tasks to those who are willing to work for less.. Except for my cleaning lady who earns more than I do.

People even use outsourcing to order tasks and then hike up the prices to clients / consumers, but thats a story for another time.

Read my story to know how to OUTSOURCE WISELY:

A few months ago I wake up in the middle of the night with an Awesome idea..

    • Yes, I have taken my small life and put it OUT THERE. For the world to ridicule, judge, love.. and VOTE.. I hope…

I know I am in good company with the quality of video created and I used that as an excuse to allow me to say enough is enough. Part of me kept saying ‘this is an opportunity that does not come up EVER!’ The other part was saying ‘this is one more distraction you cant afford to allow in your life right now’. So I combined both and spent HOURS (and DAYS) to offer a crappy submission :)

I am sure you are all RUNNING to vote for me now. Really. Go. NOW and VOTE 10 (or I will come after you).

      http://www.nextinternetmillionaire.com/show.php?id=1232

or Watch Here.. But when you are done – click on link above, or if you move over to YouTube click on link in the description to the right of the page – it will take you straight to my voting page (no sign up).

Afterwards I regretted not saying MORE about myself. So I uploaded to YouTube a blooper video. However I ended up not not accomplishing what I set out to do.. except for having FUN! (watch to see a Shameless PLUG for a Music Group)

Thats enough for today… ~~~ ANDREA

    • Assuming we use the word Blogger as a ‘verb’ which describes it literally to be ‘one who blogs’, calling oneself a ‘Blogger’ may give someone else a false impression of what you REALLY are doing.

Ok, lets try and say that again :) . You could collect many different individuals who BLOG, and some may be offended by the freedom with which someone else allows themselves to attach themselves to this line of ‘work’, or perhaps ‘pleasure’.

Sometimes I make no sense no matter how many times I try :) .

For example… Pat Conroy may take offense that Danielle Steel calls herself a novelist…. and many serious bloggers may take offense that others who just Blog to make a buck and create cheap trashy sites spitting out RSS content and plaster them with Google Adsense (I said PLASTERED people – nothing wrong with me trying to pay for my chocolate habit) .

I am straddling the fence since I am really peddling a business here, but refuse to blog without trying to add my own personal flair, style and believe it or not – my own written words! Dont let that surprise you. Many marketers such as myself get ahead by buying the rights to use public label rights (PLR) content that someone else has created. In fact I have such a membership where I receive monthly material all related to marketing. Yet every time I look through the list of articles, searching for a good blog post, I see lots of great information, but its like HO HUM.. if I cant get through it, why would I expect you to?? Good news – gonna save myself $12.95 a month now!

This makes my professional life a little complicated since I admire that which this was not set out to be, yet I fully intend to keep delivering. Therefore the rules will just have to keep changing to what Suits me best, and I guess that really what Blogging is all about.

I added a few categories which I think I will enjoy writing and I hope you will enjoy reading..

      1) Personal Baby Steps… posts like this, when I make a decision, when I grow in business

      2) Things I learned today Series – When I have a busy surfing day and feel like sharing the goods whether it be personal or business related… I can see where you could confuse this with category above, but I wont :)

      3) Idea of the week – Many of my readers are work at home moms (or aspiring), so I hope to offer a weekly review of a job that can be done from home, with or without the need for the computer! Guest entries welcome!

So this way I can continue to have my BLOG and eat it too…

      • Getting PLUGGED with the Plugins!

Posted in Blogging, SEO / Traffic, by Andrea Yager
      • View Comments

    • Someone just pointed out to me that my Blogging Category to the left Left Arrowwas VACANT of posts and I just happened to be downloading some cool plugins for the [blog] that YOU should know about, so here goes.

Plugins have basically made your blog (Wordpress anyways) about as capable an engine as any expensive BIG website.

Apparantely there are these [GEEKS] throughout the world who get a kick out of creating a ‘plugin’, which is literally a zip file that is usually downloaded (for FREE) and then uploaded into your [plugin] directory of your site. Then you click ‘activate’ and VOILA… you are in business. Some require a little bit more of a learning curve than others and usually it is not too hard to find installation instructions and even video tutorials and step by step guides.

Go to WordPress Plugins and find the latest available. Most of the programmers offer the plugin user to donate a nickel here or there to support their Geek habits. Many of these people are still in college! The Adsense guy has it set up where you can ‘reward’ him with a %age of your earnings. This is JUST for adsense within the posts – a reasonable request considering any earnings are directly a result of his generosity.

I already have the standard Adsense Deluxe (technical difficulties keep me from showing you it in action here), and Akismet – to avoid spamming comment posters.SEO and Traffic being the latest ‘HOT’ topic around here, I downloaded

SEO Title Tag – Creates SEO Friendly Title tags,

Google Sitemap – Creates a Google Sitemap – loved by Google search engines

Ultimate Tag Warrior – Creates a Tag Cloud,

and SimpleTags – which add auto-linked Technorati tags to each post, either at the end of the post, or within the body of the post.

I am ‘moderately’ Tech Savvy – I am comfortable with FTP, and not scared of HTML, PHP, what have you.. so I managed to get all the plugins uploaded and activated.

However…I still have some WHAT NEXT questions..

Like I activated the Google Sitemap, but how do I get it so a viewer can see that it exists?

Like I am placing the proper [TAGS] around my words in my post as suggested with simple tags, but will it really appear at the bottom of this post as technorati tags?? If it DOESNT work, I am not correcting it later – so excuse the random use of []’s.

Like why AM I having technical difficulties with my Adsense Plugin?? I put in the proper Google Code and all..

When I have the time… I know all the free resources will be available to me to get it straightened out…. unless YOU can help me??

It seems that when it comes to the roads, noone wants traffic, but when it comes to the WEB, its ALL about the traffic.

Many people, myself included, would like to believe that we are going to dump good money into a solid looking website, and then the people are just going to come.. or maybe we will email our parents and friends and that’s all it will take for the business to really take off.

One of my favorite lines from one of the greatest movies in the ’80’s:

“IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME”…

It could not be LESS true with the WEB! ..
